American Flag Pallet

Who loves a little USA spirit to start the holiday weekend? We sure do! Chelsea, our graphic designer turned Auction Find Redesigner took a slightly beaten pallet and turned it into an awesome decorative American flag.

This American flag pallet is super easy and will look amazing at your 4th of July barbecue this weekend. And it’s not too late, this project will take less than an hour, so you can totally pull it off!

That's a lot of stuff, right? Wait until you see the
treasures we're redesigning from this gem of an auction!

We got this pallet from an electrical auction we did a few weeks ago, and the best part is, it was FREE!! There are a ton of supply houses that have too many pallets then they know what to do with, so ask around because they are easy to come across and make some of the best materials for DIY projects!

To start, make sure all the boards on the pallet are secure. If any need replaced or repaired, or you're just super picky like we are and want the spaces between each board evenly spaced, just pull a board from another pallet and rearrange them. (a little OCD never hurt anyone, right?)

Then, we used a sander to smooth out all the sharp edges.

Spray paint a metal star and place it on the pallet so you can tape off the area to make sure there’s enough room to nail it down when it’s finished.

Use painters tape and place it in the middle of each board. Then paint white and red on each side of the tape. ***Make sure you remove the tape BEFORE the paint completely dries for crisp lines.

If you are keeping your pallet outside, you can spray protective paint on it to keep the colors vibrant.

Attach the white star with two nails and you’re done in time for cocktail hour!

Have an amazing 4th of July!! xoxo

Hi there! I'm Sara Rose.

I am sooo excited to be starting a new challenge and fulfilling a big dream of mine. But before I get into all that…here’s what you should know about me.

I'm a third-generation auctioneer. Yep - I'm a fast-talking auctioneer just like you see on TV. I come from a family of five fierce female auctioneers that are amazing bid-callers and each run their own successful auction companies.

I’m a wife, and hopefully one day I’ll be lucky enough to become a mother. But for now, I live in Naples, Florida and split my time between our offices here and Toledo, Ohio where my family started our business. I absolutely love my job because it’s extremely fast-paced and always challenging me in new ways.

Now, what you should know about Auction Find Redesign…

I’m a total Pinterest stalker and love following DIYers to see creative room reveals and furniture transformations. There are some serious professional thrift shoppers out there, and I’m hoping to convert some you thrifters by seeing how much fun, thrilling, and yes, sometimes addicting, auctions can be.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be introducing you to our (mini) team and what we’re all about. While our website development is getting underway (which I’m totally pumped about), we’ll be sharing our stories, tutorials, and all the other fun things we do here because we just couldn’t wait to share it any longer!

Want to get in touch? Email me at auctionfindredesign@gmail.com.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you and experiencing the growth of a new and exciting dream!

Sara :)
